What are 3 tips for uncovering your strengths?

1) Be Risky! Have a willingness to notice your current habits, change and even fail.

2) Speak kindly. You’re listening. Positive self-talk builds self-esteem and makes us stronger.

3) Hang-out and hang-with the sunshine. Choose people who build you up, give their honest feedback and want you to succeed. Mindfully put yourself in places where you feel calm, happy, loved and accepted. Let the sunshine in.

What's your favorite clothing catalog?

Sundance. Hands down. Love the bohemian flair mixed with sophistication…plus great colors and jewelry. Oh, and scarves -they can complete the entire look.

What are some good pre-workout snacks?

Eggs n’ toast: Try 1 or 2 hard-boiled eggs with 1 slice of whole-wheat toast.

Fruit leather: Need something light that makes you feel like a kid again? Try 1 single serving of fruit leather. Have a little extra time? Roll some out in the kitchen.

Energy in a bar: With so many options in the aisle, try opting for a bar with the most natural ingredients. While protein count is key, also check the sugar content (it shouldn’t rival what’s found in the candy aisle!).

Chicken n’ sweets: For a fast bite, grab 2-4 ounces (or a palm-sized amount) of sliced chicken with an equal portion size of sweet potatoes.

Oats n’ eggs: Not just for breakfast, try ½ cup cooked oatmeal and 2 whole eggs seasoned with salt and pepper.

PB & B toast: Fuel up with 1-2 tablespoons of all-natural peanut butter and half a sliced banana on whole-wheat toast.

Turk-cado pasta: Add 2-4 ounces (or a palm-sized amount) of roasted turkey and 3-4 avocado slices to ½ cup cooked whole-wheat pasta for some enviable eats.

Wafflewich: Spruce up this classic by combining 1 frozen Kashi waffle with 2 teaspoons of almond butter and 1 teaspoon of jam.

Better than a PB Cup: A half-cup cooked oats with 1 teaspoon defatted peanut flour, a dash of stevia, and a sprinkling of cocoa powder on top.

What's your favorite in-home workout program?

Right now I’m loving INSANITY MAX:30. Only 3o/day, 5 days per week. I find it challenging…but also doable. I can’t always keep up, but it’s just me and the DVD, so I feel good simply doing my best. I gave up swearing for my New Year’s Resolution, so even though it’s a kick @$$ program, I find that I’m a little more positive and calmer about the challenge because I’m keeping it clean.;)

What's your favorite yoga pose?

I’m not sure I really have a favorite. Somedays it’s for sure child’s pose because of the mindful acceptance that it’s okay to rest. I mainly teach Yoga Fusion classes. I blend yoga, dance, and Pilates into one class. I love the dance portion and like infusing fluidity into my entire class. Dancing lunges are one of my favorites. You come into a low lunge and continually switch legs at your own pace…however you add some rounding of the back and pulling the belly in as your arms reach to the floor in front of you. The entire body gets in on it and creates a cool, challenging, beautiful movement.
