I often share how important it is to love yourself. Love is a place we go when we’re done hiding. It takes courage to be exposed. Every time you courageously speak up, you love yourself a bit more.
Many of our external distractions have been removed because of quarantine, but it’s giving us the time and freedom to explore introspectively. Not only are we spending time in our own home, but also in our own head. The better you understand and believe in you, the more you can share.
We are too accustomed to people-pleasing, telling innocuous white lies, and silencing ourselves, when we feel like saying, “I actually don’t agree with that.”
Speaking your truth is allowing yourself to be vulnerable. It takes courage. Your perspective, story, and experiences matter. You matter. Contribute to the grand life you’ve been given by being having the courage to be uniquely you. All of us want to make people happy, but there are times when we get so wrapped in saying the right thing to make someone happy, we forfeit our own happiness.
Your truth makes you happy. The world needs your spark, and your message. To become the person you are meant to be, you need to let the world know who you are. This forced alone time is giving us the gift of reconnecting with who we really are.
